Lebuh Kimberley Street’s Awesome Penang Food

Must Eat Penang Food at Lebuh Kimberley Street

Lebuh Kimberley (Kimberley Street) is a famous street in Georgetown, Penang for its delicious choices of must eat Penang food. On our last night in Penang, we came here for street food dinner. With so many choices, we only get to try the legendary Kway Chap, Sky Emperor Chicken FeetPenang Char Kuey Teow, Loh Bak and Fried Oyster Omelette (Oh Chien). Let’s go through them one by one.

Lebuh Kimberley, the heaven street for local Penang food.

Penang Kimberly Street Duck Kway Chap
The first hawker food we tried here at Lebuh Kimberley is the legendary Duck Kway Chap (also known as kuey chap). Photo here is the stall selling the Kway Chap. Just by looking at the crowd, one can tell how delicious is the Kway Chap. I saw on other blog that the queue start as early as 5pm. Do not worry though as the chefs are very efficient in preparing your Kway Chap.

Look at all the ingredients for the Kway Chap. You can choose to have everything or just the pork and duck meat if you are not used to eating pig ear, pig tongue, pig innards (including intestines and livers). But let me tell you if you are just eating the pork, you are missing one of the pleasure in life.  You can also choose porridge instead of the broad rice flour noodle.

My bowl of duck Kway Chap. Got pig ear, pig tongue, pig innards such as intestines, tender sliced duck meat and braised egg. The soup is very flavorful indeed and this has officially become one of my must try food in Penang.

Penang Kimberly Street Sky Emperor Braised Chicken Feet
Sky Emperor Chicken Feet is our next meal here. Chicken feet is my family’s favourite food and we usually cook it with salted vegetable soup. The chicken feet here is fat and juicy with this unique and unforgettable delicious taste.

So delicious I must show another photo of the Sky Emperor Chicken Feet.

A closer look on the chicken feet. Chicken feet is also something not everyone eat. But I must tell you again you are missing another pleasure of life if you are not eating chicken feet.

Our plate of chicken feet bone. How do you eat your chicken feet? For me, I put the whole feet in my mouth and spit the bones out pieces by pieces.

Penang Kimberly Street Char Kuey Teow
We also tried the Penang Char Kuey Teow from this stall opposite the Kway Chap stall.

Char Kuey Teow and Chinese Sweet Dessert
The Char Kuey Teow is delicious with lots of small prawns and cockles. Personally I still prefer the duck egg one at Famous Penang Road Char Kuey Teow.

Penang Kimberly Street Food Lor Bak
We also ordered this Lor Bak (spiced pork meat rolls) with other fried stuff. The Lok Bak is generous with tender pork and it is of the best I have tried. Another must try here in Lebuh Kimberley.

Another photo on the Lor Bak. Must eat with the provided chili sauce to further enhance the taste.

Penang Kimberly Street Food Fried Oyster
When we were walking back to our cars, we noticed this Fried Oyster Omelette (Oh Chien) stall and order one to share among us. Recommended to try this as well if you are in Lebuh Kimberley.

Till next time, stay tuned for my blog on the hotel we stayed during the company’s Penang trip.
