Visiting Peacock Garden and Wen Wu Temple during Taiwan Trip to Taichung and Taipei

On the way to Wen Wu Temple, we stopped for a while at Peacock Garden.  I think there are only around 30 peacocks here.  Nothing special if you have seen a peacock before in real life.

Taiwan Peacock Garden
The Peacock Garden. Can you see any peacock?

Taiwan Peacock Garden
A nice peacock, too bad it didn’t expand the tail. I read somewhere that you will need to do some dance for it to expand the beautiful tail?

Is this a peacock or a chicken?  Looks like a chicken to me.

After looking at the peacock, we went to Wen Wu Temple.  Wenwu Temple is located at the shoulder of mountain, north of Sun Moon Lake.  It was built in 1938 when the people are worried the water of Sun Moon Lake will cover Longfeng Temple and Ihuatang of Shuishotsun,  so they built the Wen Wu Temple.

Year of Steps is the original entrance to the temple.  There are 366 steps of stair which represents the days in a year.  Now it leads down to the the Sun Moon Lake.  We just take some photos from the top but didn’t climb down as we worried cannot climb back up after that.

Tea Egg at Taiwan
Saw this steamy tea egg.  Around RM 1 for 1 egg.  Super yummy.  The second best food I ate in Taiwan after the stinky tofu.

Saw this steamy tofu with shiitake mushroom.  Tempting but it is lunch time soon.

Taiwan Roasted Chicken
Roasted chicken.  Tempting too but again it is lunch time soon.

Saw the amazing Guan Dao at Wen Wu Temple.  Guan Dao is Guan Yu‘s weapon or named Green Dragon Crescent Blade, which resembled a halberd and was said to weigh about 18.25 kg or 40 lbs).
