Eating at Fatt Kee Fish Mixed at Kota Kinabalu during Sabah Trip

This is the first post of our Kota Kinabalu (KK), Sabah trip. We booked a morning flight from Kuala Lumpur and reached around 1030am. Before we check into our first night’s accommodation, the Pine Resort, we went to our first food in Kota Kinabalu. It is the famous fish noodle in Kota Kinabalu (KK), Fatt Kee.

Fatt Kee is a small stall in a seafood restaurant called Jin Jin seafood restaurant.  They sell mixed fish noodle, fish head mee hoon, and tom yam noodle.  You can order just the fish, fish head or mixed.  There are also other fish parts and seafood such as squids and prawns.

Let’s proceed to our fishy meal.

Fish meat mee hoon in tomato soup. Added milk to this one. The fish slices are big and fresh.

The fried fish also quite big and fresh.

I ordered dried so it comes with plain mee hoon soaked in soya sauce.

The chili sauce for your fish.  Very spicy and nice.

I took out all the fish and fish part so that you can see clearer what are inside the soup.

Definitely one of the must try food if you visit Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.  Personally I prefer the mee hoon in soup as the soya sauce used does not suite my taste.  Both tomato soup with milk or no milk are also nice and has different taste.
Very satisfied with the amount of the fish in the soup and the freshness.

  1. Food in this shop is nice, but it’s truly a RIP OFF shop. The owner is very dishonest! You won’t notice if you are a tourist or seldom eat there.

However, if you frequently eat at the shop, you’ll realize the price they charge you is not consistent despite you have ordered the same thing everytime. Today the worst experience I had in this shop is, when I asked them how much is the food price prior to placing my order, they quoted me one price, but when the bill comes it’s a different price. Their excuse is…. they gave me a more expensive fish because the fish they quoted me earlier ran out. Funny thing is…. I eat there quite often, and I am 100% sure it’s the same fish!

  2. So… After a year… And after being ripped off every other time… It’s still being frequented. I guess it must be delicious 😉
