After we check in at Kinabalu Pine Resort, we went to visit Poring Hot Spring & Nature Reserve. This is actually our first location for our Sabah trip. There are so many benefits of hot spring. From what we normally heard, hot spring can help to eliminate toxin from the body, can heal many diseases and help our body to relax. A quick Google bring me to this website which shows many benefits of hot springs:
Enjoying hot spring at Poring Hot Spring, Sabah
Poring is actually a small town near Ranau and Mount Kinabalu. It has open-air and private cabin bath with hot spring that contains sulphur which is good for skin. A lot of people came here to relax after climbed the Mount Kinabalu. We came here just to try the hot springs and actually wanted to walk the suspension bridge / canopy walk. However, we reached late and the entrance is closed at 4 pm. From what I read, you may also get the chance to see Rafflesia, which is the biggest flower in the world. If you plan to come here, do come early to try the suspension bridge / canopy walk.
A short video clip showing the surrounding of the Poring hot spring area.
The office of the Poring Hot Spring.
Some introduction to Poring Hot Spring. According to the plat, there are many birds and wild animals such as flying lemurs, monkeys and orang utan. There are also campsite, restaurant, butterfly farms, orchid centre, cave and waterfalls. But due to limited time, we only try their hot spring.
The jungle path to the hot spring. Took around 5 minutes of walk. Enjoyed the nature and the fresh air.
Spotted this suspension bridge above the river.
Keep your park clean or orang utan will bite you.
Sign board to Rainforest Restaurant. Didn’t visit it though. Maybe next trip to Kota Kinabalu arrange to spend more time here?
Sign board to all the places in this park. Toilet is the top priority as this area is quite big.
One of the hot spring. Hot and steamy.
This one is super hot hot spring. Closed for any human to bath here. Can see a lot of steam from this hot spring.
My family and relatives testing the hot spring. As you can see, there are a few of hot spring huts.
And finally we dip our leg into the hot spring. Very hot indeed and I can feel my legs become smooth.
Highly recommended if you want to try hot spring. Will visit again to try the canopy walkway as we missed it this time.
