Visiting Tuaran Crocodile Farm during Sabah Trip

Our next destination is the Tuaran Crocodile Farm after feeding our stomach with the nice coconut pudding, grilled coconut and BBQ Clam (Lokan Panggang).  Tuaran Crocodile Farm is the largest crocodile farm in Sabah.  There are more than 1000 crocodiles here according to the website.  Tuaran Crocodile Farm has 50 years of experience in breeding and farming the crocodile for raw skins and meat.  The journey to this crocodile farm took around 2 hours of driving from Kota Kinabalu.

This crocodile is a saltwater crocodile and has eaten one of the villagers at Kinabatangan river.  When it was killed, it is 60 years old, 16 feet long and weighing at 2200 pounds.

You can also buy dried crocodile meat here.  We didn’t try though.

Tuaran Crocodile Farm is worth the visit if you have not visited any crocodile farm before in other country.  You can also feed the crocodile with the provided chicken but the crocodiles are not actively eating the chicken.  Maybe they are full?  Till the next time, Tuaran Mee at Tuaran.
