Havara Place Homestay Penang

Our Stay at Havara Place Homestay, Penang

Havara Place Homestay is our first night’s accommodation during our Penang trip. Before I continue with the rest of our eating posts, let me blog a bit about this awesome homestay in Penang. Havara Place is a bungalow located strategically in Pulau Tikus and very near to popular malls such as Gurney Paragon and Gurney Plaza. Besides that, it is also within 10 minutes walk to Kedai Kopi New Cathay (新國泰茶室) at Penang which I blogged a while ago about its hawker food such as Char Kuey Teow and Char Kuey Kak.

Havara Place is a bungalow extended to have more rooms. It is located in Leandro’s Avenue which I feel is a quite and peaceful place for staying because I didn’t hear any sound of the cars from the main road. There is also big space in front to park your car.

As you can see in this photo, the building behind is the Gurney Paragon. We walked to this shopping mall one of the night to burn off some calories after all the yummy Penang foods.

The original design is maintained when this bungalow is converted into a homestay. Nice feel I should say. The steel gate here is locked at night for security.

The room of Havara Place

A panorama shoot of one of the room in Havara Place. Each room has a LED TV with Astro. It also comes with classic items such as this sewing machine. Since I do not know how to sew, so I did not try if it is still working.

Classic table in bedroom in Havara Place Homestay
A classic table that looks like a sewing machine or was it converted from a sewing machine? According to reader Stess, this is actually a secretary typewriter table.

Noticed on our room there is this hole in the wall covered by this wooden door. Nice design but what is really behind it?

I think this round thing is originally a window?

The washroom / bathroom of Havara Place

Washroom in Havara Place Homestay
Havara Place has very big bathroom, almost as big as the sleeping room. Each room has their own bathroom so you do no need to queue for brushing teeth in the morning.

Hot water shower in bathroom at Havara Place Homestay
Hot shower is also available in the big bathroom. So big that you can bath together with your roommate comfortably. But I notice the water pressure can be not so strong sometimes. Maybe other tenant was showering as well.

Toilet in Havara Place Homestay
A comfortable toilet for you to do your business. And yes, toilet paper is also available. I’m not sure the window here can see through or not so we rolled down the curtain when doing our business here.

He is the one who recommended us to try the food at Ah Chui Seafood Restaurant 阿水海鲜 at Jalan Paya Terubong and also taught us how to go to Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul 槟城律驰名潮州煎蕊.
