Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen at Melaka is our first stop during our 3 days 2 nights trip to Melaka. This time to Melaka, we wanted to try something out of the tourists area at Jonker Street. At first we wanted to try 486 Baba Low, Tengkera but it is closed. So we try Kedai Makanan & Minuman Soon Yen which is nearby. Kedai Makanan & Minuman Soon Yen is a hawker center with many stalls selling local Melaka food such as Nyonya Laksa and Mee Siam. This place is also famous for its duck noodle stall.
Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen is situated along Jalan Tengkera. You will easily notice this place with the big tree. We found this place easily with WAZE.
This is the famous duck noodle at Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen. Price for three sizes are from RM 4.30, RM 4.50 and RM 5.00. Pretty cheap if you are coming from a city.
Delicious looking BBQ Fu Chuk but we didn’t try. Want to keep the empty stomach for the local food.
Side view of the famous duck noodle. You can see so many ingredients are involved in the making of the duck noodles.

Delicious bowl of duck noodle at Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen
Our bowl of duck noodle. Very flavorful and delicious. The chili sauce goes very well with the duck meat too. The soup is herb-based. All ingredients mixed very well together.
A closer look on the yummy bowl of duck noodle.
We also get to try the Nyonya Laksa at Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen. This is one of the best food I had at Melaka. I prefer this one as the taste is not too strong. Some other Nyonya Laksa I tried has too much santan taste.
Flavourful plate of Mee Siam. Very delicious too and definitely will eat this again next time I come.
Big sized cockles from the bowl of Nyonya Laksa.
The stall where we ordered our Nyonya Laksa and Mee Siam, Renee’s Delight. They also sell nasi lemak and salted pork mee which is not available on that day.

Another hawker stall here selling other Malaysian food such as Wan Tan Mee, Loh Shu Fan and Curry Mee.
Another stall here selling other local food such as Loh Mee.
If you are bored with local food, there is a stall here selling western breakfast.
Another stall selling snacks. There are not many people here and the food is quiet delicious. This Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen can be an alternative place to eat if you do not want to queue for food at tourists area in the Jonker Street.
Stay tuned for my next posts on Melaka.
