Jonker 88 Nyonya Assam Laksa and Baba Laksa

Jonker 88 Delicious Nyonya Cuisine and Dessert at Melaka

Jonker 88 is where we had our first lunch during our Melaka trip. After our breakfast at Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen and check-in to Hotel Puri Melaka, we walked to Jonker 88. Jonker 88 is a old shop house converted to a restaurant.

You can get two of the most popular Melaka food at Jonker 88, the Nyonya Assam Laksa and Laksa.

Food ordering is self service here at Jonker 88. Before you order, you need to find a table first. Then you also need to bring the food to your own table. The food is prepared pretty fast so even if there is a long queue, it won’t be a long wait.

A close up on the Nyonya Assam Laksa, a delicious sour spicy dish of fish, fu chuk, chicken egg, cucumber and onion.

The Baba Laksa is delicious with strong taste of creamy coconut milk.  Personally I prefer the Nyonya Laksa at Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen which has lighter taste but this one has more ingredients.

Baba Cendol at Jonker 88
Our friend also ordered a bowl of Chendol, a must try dessert if you are in Melaka.

The menu of Jonker 88. They have many types of iced dessert such as Mango Ice-Kacang and E.P.C Eight Precious Chendol. It is always hot weather in Melaka, so a bowl of cold dessert can helps to cool down the body before continue to explore the streets of Melaka.
