There are many stories about the origin of Bak Kut Teh on Wikipedia but the one I always heard is from Pork Port Klang. The story goes like this. Once upon a time in Port Klang, someone invented Bak Kut Teh for the port’s coolies to eat as a tonic to boost their strength and health.
