After visiting the Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi (邱公司), we saw this small and cozy looking Busy Bodhi Cafe opposite the road. Feeling thirsty, we decided to take a rest here before continue our adventure in Penang. I guess the name comes from the word busybody? But it might also be named after the Bodhi Tree, since there is a tree that looks like the Bodhi Tree right inside the cafe. I quite like this cafe so here is the blog about it.
Authentic Coconut Ice Cream at Busy Bodhi Cafe
The authentic coconut ice cream signboard outside of the Busy Bodhi Cafe. From the picture it does look delicious. Lets find out.
The coconut ice cream is served with peanuts as topping. The coconut is very smooth and the peanuts tasted really delicious when you eat it together with the cooling ice cream. This amazing dessert is one of the must try if you visited this cafe.
We also ordered a fresh coconut to quench our thirst.
Besides the coconut ice cream, you can also find one of the famous Penang mural arts here in Busy Bodhi Cafe. The mural art is the “Child on the chair”, trying to reach something.
Only the chair and the cup are real. The child itself is a drawing. Rumours has it that until today, he is still trying to reach the cup.
The interior of Busy Bodhi Cafe with creative design.
I think this is the Bodhi tree with the Christmas ornament. The ceiling here is covered with colorful umbrellas, giving the cafe a very happy and beautiful natural light.
Another angle of the interior with many classic and vintage stuff.
If you love arts and postcards, you can get some here at Busy Bodhi Cafe.
Spotted this old classic calculator in the cafe. Not really sure if it is still functioning since I do not know how to operate it.
