Rumah Ku Gallery and Cafe is a restaurant selling many kinds of food ranging from Malay, Chinese, Indian and western dishes. Rumah Ku or My Home in English, is previously a bungalow turned into a restaurant along Jalan University, opposite the University Hospital. Today, Rumah Ku has moved into the Jaya One, Petaling Jaya. Lucky for us, we do not need to be trapped in traffic jam anymore if we wanted to eat at Rumah Ku since we are working in Jaya One. Click here to view all my reviews of restaurants in Jaya One
Since there are only 3 of us, we could only order 3 dishes. Let me share first and update this post with more food photos when we visit Rumah Ku again.
My XO Fried Rice. Served with acar and crackers. This XO Fried Rice is just perfect for me, not too spicy and there are 4 pieces of prawns inside. The price is reasonable at RM 10.90.
Ladies Fingers Belacan. RM 12. Laupoh ordered this and she can just eat this dish with a bowl of white rice. Stole some from her and it tasted really good.
Special Mix Vegetables with Lotus Root. This dish is Chef Recommended. Ordered by our friend. RM 15.00.
There are many more choices of food here such as Spaghetti Carbonara, Mutton Briyani, Indonesian style Claypot prawn, Green Curry Chicken and Yam Basket Chicken. I told you it is a mixtures of Malay, Chinese, Indian and western dishes. So if your father want to eat yam basket, your mom want to eat spaghetti and your sister want to eat roti canai, Rumah Ku is the perfect place to go for a family dinner with nice environment.
A view from inside of Rumah Ku. The glass door allows natural lighting which I prefer.
Another view of the inside of Rumah Ku. Each table has a beautiful table cloth.
The word 家 means Home in English or Rumah in Malay.
Nice menu cover with batik (Malay’s element) on top on this nice table cloth with elephant (Indian’s element).
A cozy corner in the Rumah Ku Gallery and Cafe. Not sure if we can sit at the corner’s table and eat?
Spotted this lamp that looked like an egg with hair? Or is it an alien’s eye? Or perhaps it is a symbol of the sun?
A cute little red cheongsam in Rumah Ku, which is a Chinese’s element.
Rumah Ku opens everyday except Monday from 11.00 am to 10.00 pm. So we can come here for lunch or dinner.
Rumah Ku, the spice pantry is located at Lot D61-P2, Jaya One, 46200 Petaling Jaya.
